This Faro Index Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you run scans, download reports, or create an account, and how we use and protect email addresses, scan results, and billing data.

This Privacy Policy describes how Faro Index ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our platform at faroindex.ai and app.faroindex.ai.
1. Information we collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and company name. If you sign up via Google or Microsoft OAuth, we receive your name and email from those providers.
Scan Data: When you run a scan, we store the company name, domain, industry, and scan results.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, features used, and scan frequency.
Payment Information: Billing is processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic and usage patterns.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the Service, process scans and generate reports, send transactional emails, send marketing emails if you opt in (you may unsubscribe at any time), and respond to support requests.
3. Third-party services
We use: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), OpenAI, Perplexity, Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude (AI queries), Google Analytics (usage analytics), Vercel (frontend hosting), Railway (backend hosting).
When we query AI platforms on your behalf, we submit prompts that include your company name and industry.
Your company name, domain, and queries may appear in OpenAI, Perplexity, Google, and Anthropic logs subject to their respective data retention policies. We do not control how these third parties store or process the data we submit on your behalf.
4. Data retention
Free scan results are retained for 90 days, after which the shareable link expires. Underlying scan data may be retained in anonymized aggregate form for benchmark research. Paid scan results are retained for the duration of your account. Request deletion of identifiable data at any time by emailing hello@faroindex.ai. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
5. Data security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, secure authentication, and access controls.
6. Cookies
The platform uses essential cookies for authentication. Google Analytics uses cookies for usage tracking. You may disable cookies in your browser settings.
7. Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data, and unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy at any time. The "last updated" date reflects the most recent revision.
