Everything you need to run scans, read your scores, and fix the accuracy and GEO issues that shape how AI describes your brand. If you do not find what you need here, email hello@faroindex.ai and a person will answer.
Getting started
What is Faro Index?
Faro Index measures how AI platforms describe and cite your brand across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude. It scores four signals: AI Visibility, meaning how often AI mentions you, Brand Accuracy Rate, meaning whether what it says is factually correct, GEO Score, meaning how readable your site is to a model, and Content Leakage, meaning whether AI uses your content without attribution or reframes your story. The point is to show you what AI tells buyers about you before a wrong answer ships.
How do I run a scan?
Enter your company name and website URL, select your industry, and start the scan. Free scans finish in about sixty to ninety seconds. Paid scans on Starter, Growth, and Pro typically take five to fifteen minutes depending on tier and site complexity. We email you when results are ready.
What does the visibility score mean?
It is the share of all company mentions attributed to your brand across the AI platforms we queried. A score of 20 means your brand appeared in 20 percent of all citations. Higher is better, but context matters. A score of 5 percent in a crowded category may still be strong.
How long does a scan take?
Free scans finish in about sixty to ninety seconds. Paid scans on Starter, Growth, and Pro typically take five to fifteen minutes depending on tier and site complexity, and the dashboard shows progress and emails you when results are ready, so you can close the tab and come back.
How often should I scan?
Paid plans scan weekly automatically. On-demand scanning is useful after you make significant website changes, like adding schema markup or publishing new content, or after a major company event. Run a scan two to four weeks after deploying fixes to see whether your scores improved.
Understanding your results
Why are there no competitors listed?
This means the AI platforms did not mention other companies alongside yours in their responses. This can happen for very new or niche brands. It does not mean competitors do not exist. It means AI is not yet associating your brand with its category.
Why is my visibility score 0?
Your brand was not mentioned by name in any AI response during this scan. This is common for new or niche brands and is exactly the gap Faro Index helps you fix. The platform breakdown and competitor data still show you what the AI landscape looks like in your category.
What are the example queries?
These are the actual questions we sent to each AI platform during your scan. They are drawn from a library of high-intent queries for your industry, the kinds of questions real buyers ask AI assistants.
What does "platform unavailable" mean next to a platform name?
That platform was experiencing an outage during your scan and was automatically skipped. Your results come from the platforms that did respond. We retry degraded platforms automatically in future scans.
What does brand accuracy rate measure?
Brand Accuracy Rate is the percentage of verifiable factual claims AI makes about your company that match your website. We extract claims about pricing, products, leadership, and positioning from AI responses and score each as correct, outdated, incorrect, or unverifiable. It is separate from visibility: you can be mentioned often and still described wrongly.
Why is my visibility high but my accuracy low?
These measure different things. Visibility is how often AI mentions you. Accuracy is whether what AI says is correct. A brand can be mentioned frequently but described wrongly, with wrong pricing, outdated products, or confusion with another company. High visibility with low accuracy is often worse than low visibility because buyers are receiving confident misinformation.
What is the AI Search Impact section?
AI Search Impact estimates how much organic traffic AI answers may be displacing for your brand. It measures zero-click exposure, meaning how often AI fully answers a buyer question without a click to your site, content overlap, meaning how closely AI responses mirror your content without citing you, and competitive displacement, meaning which competitors get cited where you do not. It is included on paid plans, so check your dashboard for current availability.
How does the Google Search Console integration work?
On Growth and Pro, you connect your Search Console account and Faro Index pulls your page-level traffic data, then correlates it with AI visibility to show which specific pages are losing traffic to AI answers. The integration is read-only and does not change anything in your Search Console.
What is the Traffic Correlation dashboard?
The Traffic Correlation tab shows pages on your site where organic traffic is declining and AI platforms are answering the same queries without citing you. It includes a risk score for each page, a comparison of traffic trends for pages with schema markup versus pages without, and citation gap analysis showing pages that rank well on Google but are not cited by AI.
Improving your visibility
How do I improve my AI visibility score?
The most effective actions are: 1) add structured data (schema.org) to your website so AI can parse your brand, product, and category clearly, 2) publish clear, factual content that directly answers the questions buyers ask, because AI surfaces content it can understand, 3) get cited on authoritative third-party sources, since AI models weight external mentions heavily, and 4) ensure your brand name is unambiguous, because if it shares a name with another product or company, AI will confuse them.
What is the accuracy audit?
Pillar 2 crawls your website and checks for structured data coverage, readability score, and missing answer blocks. These directly affect how AI models parse and represent your brand.
Why does my scan show 0% schema coverage when I have schema on my site?
This usually means the schema is injected by JavaScript after the initial page load, which means our crawler does not see it. AI crawlers face the same issue. Schema markup needs to be in the initial HTML response, server-side rendered, to count. If you added JSON-LD via a tag manager or client-side script, move it to the server-side head section. After deploying the change, run a new scan to confirm.
How do I improve my GEO score?
The three highest-impact changes are: 1) add JSON-LD schema markup to every key page, 2) add answer blocks, a 30 to 80 word paragraph directly after the H1 on each page that answers the main buyer question for that page, and 3) expand thin content, because pages under 500 words are rarely cited by AI. Add factual detail, FAQs, or structured product information.
What is leakage protection analysis?
Pillar 3 analyzes the raw AI responses from your scan and identifies which narratives, competitor associations, and negative signals appear alongside your brand. Your Leakage Protection score summarizes how well AI protects your story, and higher is better.
Understanding your metrics
What is the AI Visibility Score?
Your visibility score measures how often AI mentions your brand when buyers ask about your category. We send real buyer questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude and check whether your company appears in the answers. The score factors in how often you appear, how prominently you are featured, and how many AI platforms include you. Higher is better. A score of 80 means AI consistently recommends you. A score of 20 means AI rarely mentions you.
What is the GEO Score?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. Your GEO score measures how well your website communicates with AI. We crawl your site and check for three things: whether your site has structured data, whether your content is written in a way AI can extract clear facts from, and whether your pages directly answer the questions buyers ask. A high score means AI can easily get accurate facts from your website. A low score means AI has to guess, and when AI guesses, it often guesses wrong.
What is the Brand Accuracy Rate?
The Brand Accuracy Rate is the percentage of factual claims AI makes about your company that are actually correct. We check what AI says about your pricing, leadership, product features, founding date, and competitive positioning against what your website says. A score of 100 means every AI claim matches your site. A score of 60 means four out of ten claims are wrong or outdated. This metric is unique to Faro Index.
What is Leakage Protection?
Leakage Protection, from 0 to 100, measures how well AI represents your brand narrative. A score of 100 means fully protected, where AI describes your company accurately and favorably. Lower scores mean misrepresentation, confusion with other companies, or negative framing. This is not a social listening or media monitoring score. Higher is better.
What is structured data and why does it matter?
Structured data is information on your website that is formatted so AI and search engines can read it instantly. Think of your website as a filing cabinet. The text on your pages is like documents inside the drawers. A human can open the drawers and read them. AI cannot do that efficiently. Structured data is like putting a summary card on the outside of the cabinet: company name, what you sell, your pricing, your leadership. Without that card, AI has to guess. With it, AI gets the facts right. The most common format is called JSON-LD. It is a small block of code added to your website header. It is invisible to visitors but readable by AI. Faro Index generates this code for you based on your scan results.
Implementing fixes
How do I implement the recommended fixes?
Most fixes involve adding a small code block to your website. You do not need to write the code yourself. Faro Index generates it for you. In your scan results, click Download Schema Code to get the exact code block for your company. Then either paste it into your website yourself using our platform-specific guides for WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, and Shopify, or forward the code to your developer or webmaster. We include a pre-written email you can forward with one click. The typical implementation time is about five minutes.
I am not technical. Can someone do this for me?
Yes. The schema code we generate from your scan is developer-ready. Forward it to your developer, agency, or webmaster with the prewritten implementation email we include. For hands-on help, email hello@faroindex.ai and we can connect you with implementation partners.
How do I know if the fixes worked?
After you deploy changes to your website, Faro Index monitors the impact automatically. Your next weekly scan will show whether your GEO score improved, meaning AI can now read your site better. Over the following two to twelve weeks, your Brand Accuracy Rate should improve as AI platforms begin pulling facts from your website instead of third-party sources. We send you an email alert when we detect a significant score change.
How long do fixes take to show up in AI responses?
It depends on the AI platform. Perplexity uses live web retrieval, so changes can appear within days. Google AI Overviews update as the search index refreshes, usually within two to four weeks. ChatGPT uses a combination of training data and retrieval, so changes propagate in four to twelve weeks depending on the topic. We track this for you automatically in your weekly scans and alert you when changes are detected.
Making the case internally
How do I convince my team this is worth prioritizing?
Share your scan results with the Share button in the dashboard. The points that tend to land with leadership are three. First, what AI says about your company set next to what your own site says, in the assistant's own words. Second, the scale of the surface, since OpenAI reported roughly 900 million weekly ChatGPT users in early 2026, and the other assistants add tens of millions more, which means these answers reach buyers at a volume no sales team can match. Third, the fixes we recommend are mostly a one-time effort of about five minutes to deploy, and they improve how AI represents you on an ongoing basis rather than for a single campaign.
Plans and billing
What is the difference between plans?
Free gives you a one-time scan to see how AI represents your brand. Starter ($79/month) adds weekly monitoring across two AI platforms, ChatGPT and Perplexity, 25 tracked queries, 3 competitor tracking slots, and basic accuracy alerts. Growth ($199/month) adds a third platform, Gemini, full accuracy audits with source tracing, content leakage analysis, 50 tracked queries, and 5 competitor slots. Pro ($399/month) adds the fourth platform, Claude, daily monitoring, the full query library per industry, 50 or more queries, 10 competitor slots, priority alerts, and API access.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Cancel from your account settings at any time. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
How do I get an invoice?
Go to Dashboard, then Manage billing. You can download invoices and update payment details there.
